What is the difference between an electric guitar and a regular guitar? Is it just that the appearance is different
The regular Spanish guitar can be divided into classical guitar and folk guitar (also known as playing guitar), with the difference being that classical guitar uses nylon guitar strings that began over 200 years ago.
Classical guitar cannot be played with straps, and the main way of playing is sitting. One method is to cross your legs and place the guitar on your right thigh. Another method is to place a small stool under your left foot and place the guitar on your left leg.
Classical guitar is mainly played with fingernails and is mostly used for solo. Its tone is relatively soft and gentle, making it very suitable for playing granular decomposition, single notes, and solo. It is suitable for playing many repertoire, ranging from simple to complex: Romance of Love, Raindrops, Moonlight, Memories of Alhambra Palace, Magic Flute, etc. In fact, as it has developed to this day, classical guitar is no longer limited to playing classical repertoire. It is widely used in popular music, jazz, and even symphony, and so on;
And folk guitar, as the name suggests, is a guitar that mainly plays folk accompaniment, and its playing method can be fingernails or picks. The strings used are made of steel, with a bright tone and good graininess. It is suitable for single tone and solo decomposition performance, and is more suitable for performance styles such as string sweeping and finger tapping. The currently popular guitars on the market are collectively referred to as this type. Due to the fact that the strings of folk guitars are made of steel, many of these guitars on the market currently have an accessory component called a "pickup". This component can convert the mechanical vibration signals of this type of guitar into electrical signals and amplify them through sound reinforcement equipment.
Due to the fact that folk guitars can be equipped with straps, the playing style is very casual, and can be performed in either a sitting or standing position.
